Our Beautiful Struggle

As a wife, it’s painful to witness what he’s been going through. When Depression takes over with your partner and you feel helpless to do anything. The past year has been rough for us till now. I think what kept us strong amidst the storm is acknowledging the fact that this shall pass! Support from Family, friends & even colleagues are overwhelming. When blues hits us big’ We are not Alone!

Here’s my own ways on how to support my Husband

Connect with his friends. Let them know the real situation. Educate them of what’s going on and how they can help him.
I know for a spouse dealing with a partner who has depression can be sometimes exhausting. Take care of yourself and look for a support too.
Look for alternatives! Sometimes dispensing to Quetiapine is not always the answer. Work together and don’t stop for possible treatments.
Give Space! too much affection annoys him on his depressive times. So, it’s better to loosen up a bit and prepare a nice food instead.
Ensure he doesn’t skip meals. Healthy Mind in a healthy body!
Keep him Busy! Give him task and more random things to do.
Go out often. (Church, Malls and parks)
Constant communication will do miracles, don’t give up! Throw some jokes that will crack him up!
Know the natural ways to increase his Serotonin levels and avoid foods that will deplete his happy cells.
Know his flaws and work it out together!
Unconditional Love
