People come to SameBoat with a specific problem. That makes this a very different place to advertise.
Most platforms sell you demographics and hope. SameBoat categories are self-selected by need — someone in the Online Safety category is worried about scams right now; someone in New Baby is three weeks into parenthood and hasn’t slept. You’re not guessing at intent. The category is the intent.
What that means for your campaign
Targeting that’s actually targeted. Choose the categories that match who you’re trying to reach. No wasted impressions on people who were never going to care.
An audience that’s paying attention. People here are reading carefully, because the answer matters to them. That’s a fundamentally different mindset to passive scrolling.
Context that reflects well on you. Showing up in a space where people are being helped, alongside genuinely useful resources, is a very different association to interrupting someone’s feed.
A community that trusts the space. We’re careful about what we allow, which is precisely why placements here carry weight.
How we work with you
We’re not a self-serve ad platform, and that’s deliberate. We’ll work with you directly to build something that fits — the right categories, the right message, and creative that suits the tone of the space rather than fighting it. Advertising that feels out of place doesn’t work here, so it’s in both our interests to get it right.
Advertising or sponsorship — which one are you?
Two different things, and most organisations know immediately which fits.
Advertising is straightforward paid placement. You buy visibility in the categories that matter to you, we help you make the campaign work, and you’re done. No ongoing commitment, no time investment. Right for you if you want reach and results without running a community.
Sponsorship is deeper. A Sponsor leads a category — creating content, answering questions, and moderating the space. In return they get prominent, ongoing presence as the recognised expert in that area, well beyond what advertising offers. It costs time rather than just budget, and it builds real standing with an audience. Right for you if the expertise is your product.
Not sure? Talk to us and we’ll tell you honestly which is the better fit — including if that’s neither.
What we won’t do
We’re protective of this community, and some things are off the table regardless of budget: anything that exploits vulnerability, misleading health or financial claims, anything targeting people in crisis, and anything that would make members trust this space less. We reserve the right to decline or remove any campaign. It’s not personal — it’s the thing that makes the audience worth reaching.
Important: We clearly display advertised content as such.
