**Same Boat is a peer support forum:** a place where people dealing with similar issues, big or small, can find each other and talk it through. No credentials required, just people who get it because they’ve been there too.

Here’s how to get settled in.

**Find your boat.** Every topic on Same Boat lives in its own category, we call them boats, like Mental Health, Anxiety, Disability, or Online Safety. [Browse all categories](https://sameboat.com/categories) to find the one that fits what you’re going through. Can’t find the right one? You can [float your own boat](https://sameboat.com/t/float-your-boat/151) and start a new category for it.

**Introduce yourself.** Add a picture and a bit about yourself and your interests to [your profile](https://sameboat.com/my/preferences/account). We recommend picking a username and image that protects your real identity - which is a good practice for online forums.

**Get to know the community.** [Browse discussions](https://sameboat.com/latest) that are already happening. If a post helps, resonates, or makes you smile, use the ❤ to let the person know.

**Join in.** Comment, share your own perspective, ask a question, or just offer support. Before replying or posting, take a look at our [Community Guidelines](https://sameboat.com/faq) so everyone stays safe and respected.
